Our Story

145 years ago, the Benedictine Sisters of St. Joseph, Minnesota built a school in Moorhead, with the hope it would instill the love of God in children from an early age. They surely had no idea they would become the staple in our community it is today. St. Joseph’s School has developed a reputation in our community that the Sisters would be proud of; rigorous, welcoming, and community-oriented.

St. Joseph's FamilySt. Joseph’s School is often referred to as an extension of family; people who come through our doors feel a culture that is welcoming and a place where Christ is alive. We are proud that for the last 140 years St. Joseph’s has been providing Catholic education in Moorhead. Today we serve over 150 families from all over the metro area. Our families are a beautiful representation of our diverse community; as unique as our school population is, the commonality is a desire to participate in their child education with an assurance that Jesus is at the center of this work. -

Upon approval of your admissions application, Mrs. Johnson will make your child(ren)’s enrollment official. You can look forward to hearing confirmation from us.
